IGNOU signs MoU to be Regional Coordinating Institute (RCI) for the MHRD Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan program
17 January, 2020IGNOU has signed an MoU with IIT-Delhi, the designated National Coordinating Institute by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to participate in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) as a Regional Coordinating Institute (RCI) for the region comprising of all its Regional centers situated throughout India.
IGNOU through its Regional Centres shall bring the educational reforms in the rural areas by adopting village under different regions. Accordingly an MoU has been signed between IGNOU and UBA through IIT-Delhi which is national coordinator of UBA. Dr. V.B. Negi, Registrar, IGNOU and Dr. Virender K Vijay, National Coordinator UBA, IIT-Delhi signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. Nageshwar Rao, VC IGNOU.
On the occasion, Prof. Nageshwar Rao, VC IGNOU expressed his pleasure on signing of the MoU and said that the university through its Regional Centres' network would help in furthering the UBAs’ objectives of grooming and nurturing the participating institutions in the regions in accordance with the guidance and the plan approved by MHRD.
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a Flagship programme of MHRD, Government of India.
