Dr Saroj Pandey, Professor in the School of Education holds Ph.D degree in education from Allahabad University has twenty five years of teaching, research and training experience in the area of Teacher education and joined IGNOU in 2011. She has experience of teaching both undergraduate and post graduate level.

She has undertaken a number of researches in the area of legislation and Compulsory Education, Teacher Professionalism and professional development, Teacher Appraisal, evaluative studies of Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Teacher Education and teacher training programmes, Teacher Education Curriculum, Para Teachers scheme, and Training Need Assessment of Teachers etc. and coordinated capacity development programmes for different levels of state functionaries in the area of teacher education.

In addition to her experience in the area teacher education, her specialization includes Distance Education, and Peace and Human rights education with special focus on the Rights of the child. She has received training on child rights from SIDA, Sweden. She has been the member of National Focus Group on Peace Education formulated in the context of NCF 2005, has extensively participated and contributed as recourse person in international forums on peace and human rights education and teacher education.

She has extensively contributed at the international level, through participations in conferences, meetings, and seminars, and consulted by international organizations. She has authored several books, training packages and widely published articles in national and international journals. She is the coordinator of Certificate Programme for Professional Development of Primary Teachers (CPPDPT ) for KVS teachers.
