Dr. Pandav Nayak

Professor

Prof. Pandav Nayak is reemployed Professor with the faculty of Political Science. He has been a teacher for 46 years, out of which 25 years as Professor. He has to his credit four books and more than 200 published research articles on the following themes: Political Theory, Human Rights, Gandhian Studies, IPR, Globalisation, Library and Information Science, IT, Law and Skill Development Education. Prof. Nayak was the Vice Chancellor of Utkal University, Odisha (2001-03). He was the O.S.D. for Vocational Education and Training (2009-12) at IGNOU. In the past he has planned and given shape to new institutions in IGNOU: SOSS (1989-96), Human Rights Units (2006-08) and RIVET (2009-12) under his leadership; conceptualized and designed School of Law (2006) and the School of Vocational Education & Training (2009). Spread over a long period, Prof. Nayak rendered expert assistance st the national level to the UPSC, NHRC and the Union Ministeries of I & B, HRD, EA, HA, RD, Labour & Employment in various senior capacities. He was appointed by Distance Educational Council (GOI) as the Chairman of a sub-committee to prepare Feasibility Report of establishment of a State Open University on Skill Educational in Odisha (since submitted). Currently, he is busy as a (i) Member of the Working Group on Public Libraries of the National Mission on Libraries and (ii) as the Vice President of the Task Force constituted by the Govt. of Odisha for implementation of National Vocational Educational Qualification Framework in the state.
