Welfare Measures for IGNOU Employees

The University gives due importance to the welfare of its employees by providing facilities for health, accommodation, transportation, education, security and sanitation etc.
 
Health Centre: The University has a well established Health Centre with free consultancy facility available to its employees and their families. The empanelled reputed and experienced doctors from different streams of medicine like Allopathy, Homeopathy and Ayurveda visit the Health Centre. The Centre also provides the sample collection facility for diagnostic tests.

Housing facility: IGNOU provides housing facility equipped with all the amenities like Parks, Children Parks, Play grounds, Shopping Complex for its staff residing in the residential complex. The University has also obtained flats in the Asian Games Village of Delhi for the housing of its employees.

Schooling of wards: IGNOU employees have the facility to get their wards admitted in the Kendriya Vidyalaya located in JNU campus under Central Government employees’ quota which is a nearby School to the IGNOU Campus.
 
Transportation: Shuttle bus service is also provided for the employees and their families at regular intervals from 7: 40 AM in the morning till 8: 30 PM in the evening.

Creche: The University provides the Crèche facility for the children of the employees at the Headquarters so that they can work at ease. Further, the facility is highly subsidized.

 

 

 

Clean and Green Campus: The University’s Horticulture Cell is actively involved in maintaining complete greenery with flora and fauna. Recycled plastic has been banned on the campus. Initiatives have also been taken for water harvesting and recycling of sewage water, and maintenance of organic farms.  Apart from this, a hygienic and clean campus has been maintained by outsourcing the services of housekeeping personnel.

    

 

Other facilities
Other facilities available at the University Headquarters include a Nationalized bank and  a Post Office. Round the clock security is also maintained at the campus.
