Dr VK Jagjeevan

Deputy Librarian

 Dr VK Jagajeevan is Deputy Librarian in the University since January 2006. Prior to this, he had also worked as Assistant Librarian (IIT, Kharagpur); Library Assistant (Nuclear Science Centre, New Delhi); and Information Trainee (National Centre for Science Information, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru).

Besides MLIS from BHU, UGC NET for JRF & Lectureship in Library and Information Science and PhD in Library and Information Science from Utkal University, he also holds MSc.Physics from BHU and MTech Computer Science and Data Processing from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has more than 17 years of experience in library profession till August 2010.

Currently he is heading the Acquisition and Regional and Study Centre Libraries sections of the Library and Documentation Division of the University. He is also looking after the DDE part of NODLINET Project and working on the development of DISA, a person centred special need information support facility for disabled users. Apart from contributing to various activities as an Academic staff of the Division, he is also involved in course writing for BVET and CLIS programmes of the University, along with guiding students for IGNOU’s MLIS project.

He is specialising in digital libraries, computerized and networked information services, library databases, innovative librarianship, resource sharing, library education and library jobs.

He is the recipient of the Young Information Scientist Award from the Society for Information Science (SIS), New Delhi, and best paper awards from the Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC), Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF), and Indian Library Association (ILA).
