Mr. Mohan Veer Gautam

Deputy Registrar

Mr. Mohan Veer Gautam is currently holding the post of Assistant Registrar since 26/09/2017 at the National Centre for Disability Studies (NCDS), Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. Prior to his transfer to NCDS, he has worked as Assistant Registrar (Governance), Assistant Registrar (SC/ST Cell) and Assistant Registrar (Establishment-III) in Administration Division from 31/8/2007 to 4/8/2013. He also performed the duties of Drawing Officer of Administration Division. As Assistant Registrar (SC/ST Cell), Mr. Gautam has represented IGNOU in the University Grants Commission and the National Commission for the Scheduled Castes/Tribes, Govt. of India, New Delhi for redressal of grievances of its SC/ST employees and for implementation of the Reservation Policy of the Govt. of India in the University.

He has also worked as Assistant Registrar (Finance Committee), Internal Administration, Bills-III Section examining various proposals from 21 Schools of Studies and other Centres/Institute/Unit such as budgets relating to course writers/expert committees, school board meetings/seminars/conferences, etc. and purchase/tender/taxi/security/manpower agencies proposals from 56 Regional Centres received through Regional Services Division in F & A Division from 4/8/2013 to 25/09/2017. Besides, he has also performed the duties of PIO of Finance and Accounts Division. He also acted as a Resource Person from F&A Division in a Workshop/Training Programme for Newly Promoted Assistants/JATs posted at Regional Centres from January 30 to February 1, 2017.

Mr. Gautam has to his credit degrees of B.A.(Hons.) English, Ramjas College, University of Delhi, M.A. (English) & M.A.(Sociology), Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut and also a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from IGNOU, New Delhi.

Mr. Gautam has approx. 25 years of working experience in IGNOU. Before joining IGNOU, he has also worked in National Thermal Power Corporation, Dadri, UP from 26/11/90 to 15/01/94 and Power Grid Corporation of India, New Delhi from 17/01/94 to 06/02/95 respectively in different capacities.

He has got two articles published in the then In House Magazine of IGNOU. The first article was on the topic “IGNOU’s Human Resource: Its Strength” and the second article was titled “IGNOU and the New Millennium: Role of IGNOU Community”. He also received second prize in an Essay Competition conducted by the University on a topic titled “Ten Years of the Indira Gandhi National Open University”. He also received 1st prize in an essay competition recently conducted by IGNOU on a topic “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: Life and Thought” from Prof. Christophe Jeffrelot, Professor of Indian Politics & Sociology at the King’s India Institute, London.
