Dr. V. P. Rupam joined the University in 1989 and has been actively involved in developing and managing the student support system of the University. He has worked at several Regional Centres and was In Charge of Ranchi Regional Centre from March 2000 to July 2006. During his tenure, in 2006, Regional Centre Ranchi won the Best Services Award from the University. 

Dr. Rupam has played a key role in developing online solutions for various student support-related activities - Online Admission system, Online empanelment of Academic Counsellors, IGNOU Grievance Redress and Management (iGRAM) are some of them.  

Dr.Rupam has a postgraduate degree in Physics from Delhi University, and has done his Ph.D in Education from Lucknow University.
