Vision
- To create greater educational accessibility in the North East Region.
- To establish a wide network of learning centres/tele-learning centers across the region.
- To establish the vocational training centers.
- To overcome geographical constraints through distance learning by using Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- To provide the best resources available with IGNOU to the hitherto un-reached.
- To plan and implement need-based academic, vocational and entrepreneurship skill development programmes through face-to-face mode in collaboration with other State/Central agencies .
- To develop skills through community development programmes
- To generate gainful employment through training
- To increase employment opportunities in the region.
- To encourage and support research activities in the region
- To offer on campus face-to-face programmes
- To identify indigenous skills, promote and certify the traditional skills.
