1. Workshop on VB.NET and MS-Access Technology for SED Technical Staff 09– 21 Oct, 2013.
IUC (presently COE) conducted ten (10) half days Workshop on .NET technology for SED technical staff from 09–21 October, 2013 at IUC (presently COE).

The objectives of this workshop were to:

  • explain the VB.NET/SQL application features;
  • create a Graphic User Interface (GUI) screen in MS-Access forms;
  • create link between GUI screen and database;
  • apply coding and validation process; and
  • test the application in MS-Access.

2. Web conferencing Session on "Re-admission Application Demo: MS ACCESS based application" for Regional Center technical staffs. Using Adobe connect Web conference.
The expected outcomes of this web-conferencing were to:

  • Demonstrate the MS-ACCESS based application called “Re-admission Application for SRD”
  • Collect the feedback from the participants on the adaptation of this technology

3. Workshop on .NET technology for SRD technical staff 24-June to 5-July 2013.
IUC (presently COE) conducted ten (10) half days Workshop on .NET technology for SRD technical staff from 24th June to 05th July 2013 at IUC (presently COE).
The objectives of this three day workshop were to:

  • explain the .NET/SQL application features;
  • create a Web Graphic User Interface (GUI) screen;
  • create link between Web GUI screen and database;
  • apply coding and validation process; and
  • test the application on test server.

4. National Workshop on OERs by COL & IUC (presently COE) from 6th to 8th Mar-2013.

IUC (presently COE) conducted a National Workshop on OER in collaboration with COL, Vancouver. The workshop was conducted from 06th to 08th March 2013 at IUC (presently COE).

The objectives of this three day workshop were to:

  • Explore the educational resources in all Open Universities in India;
  • Collaborate with Open Universities to expand learning networks;
  • Practice the OER processes for creating and sharing the freely available learning resources and
  • Create collection of OER for easy access and sharing among all open universities in India.

5. Training Programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard during 18th - 20th March, 2013.
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard from 18th to 20th March, 2013. The training was attended by 25 administrative staff members of Jamia Hamdard.

The Objectives of the training programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Use MS Word,
  • Work on Excel,
  • Browse the Internet and use emails.
  • Use all these applications in their work situation.

6. Training Programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard during 15th - 17th Jan, 2013.
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard from 15th to 17th January, 2013. The training was attended by 24 administrative staff members of Jamia Hamdard.

The Objectives of the training programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Use MS Word,
  • Work on Excel,
  • Browse the Internet and use emails.
  • Use all these applications in their work situation.

7. Training Programme on Multimedia E-Content Development using Open Source Tools for Schools of Education from 22nd to 24th Jan 2013.
IUC (presently COE) organized a four day training programme on “Multimedia E-Content Development using Open Source Tools” from 22nd to 24th January 2013. The training was attended by seventeen faculty members from SOE, SOSS and SOA, IGNOU.
The Objectives of this programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Analyze the content for script writing.
  • Develop a script for e-content.
  • Design and develop Multimedia e-continent using eXe tool .
  • Convert print material (at least one unit) in Multimedia e-course content.
  • Apply the e-content development skills for other courses.

8. Training Programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard during 17th - 19th December, 2012.
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard from 17th to 19th December, 2012. The training was attended by 26 administrative staff members of Jamia Hamdard.
The Objectives of the training programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Use MS Word,
  • Work on Excel,
  • Browse the Internet and use emails.
  • Use all these applications in their work situation.

9. Training Programme on Development of Multimedia E-Content using Blender: A 3-D Animation Software during 11th -14th December 2012.
IUC (presently COE) organized a four days training programme on Development of Multimedia E-Content using Blender: A 3-D Animation Software 11th -14th December 2012. The training was attended by 17 members from STRIDE, NCIDE, ACIIL, e-Gyankosh and IUC (presently COE). The five resource persons were from OSCAR project IIT Bombay.
The Objectives of the training programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Apply instructional design for developing interactive multimedia using Blender.
  • Develop animated visuals using Blender software.
  • Develop some content into CD-based interactive multimedia materials and also in the online mode through Blender.

10. Training Programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard during 06th - 0 8th November, 2012.
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on Digital Literacy for Personnel of Jamia Hamdard from 6th - 8th November, 2012. The training was attended by 25 administrative staff members of Jamia Hamdard.

The objectives of this Training programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Use MS Word,
  • Work on Excel,
  • Browse the Internet and use emails.
  • Use all these applications in their work situation.

11. Training Programme on Multimedia E-Content Development using Open Source Tools for School of Sciences from 15th to 18th October,2012.
IUC (presently COE) organized a four day training programme on “Multimedia E-Content Development using Open Source Tools” from 15th to 18th October, 2012. The training was attended by twenty three faculty members of School of Sciences of IGNOU.
The Objectives of this programme were to enable the participants to:

  • Analyze the content for script writing.
  • Develop a script for e-content.
  • Design and develop Multimedia e-continent using eXe tool .
  • Convert print material (at least one unit) in Multimedia e-course content.
  • Apply the e-content development skills for other courses.

12. A half-day Follow-up session to the Training Programme on Multimedia E-Content Development using Open Source Tools was organised on 1st October, 2012.

14. Training Programme on Social Networking in Distance Education (September 14-16, 2011):
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on “Social Networking in Distance Education” from 14-16 Sept,2011. The training was attended by 20 faculties of Open Universities, Private
Universities and Distance Education Institutes who offer courses through distance mode.
The objectives were:
(a) Explain the use of Social Networking Technologies in the distance education system
(b) Create new learning opportunities for the learners.
(c) Use Wiki, Blog and Other Web 2.0 Tools for their distance education courses.
(d) Develop few effective Social Networking (web 2.0) tools.
(e) Apply the Social Networking approaches in one’s own organization.
15. Training Programme on Development of Online Courses (July 20-22, 2011):
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on “Development of Online Courses” from 20-22 July 2011. The training was attended by faculty of Open Universities, Private
Universities and Distance Education Institutes who offer courses through distance mode. More than 21 faculties participated in this programme.
The objectives were:
(a) Explain and describe the Instructional Design for Online Courses
(b) Highlight some of the tools used to create online courses
(c) Show some examples of Online Courses offered by IGNOU
(d) Describe the Learning Management System
(e) Create an Online Course using Moodle and
(f) Publish the Course
16. Training Programme on Development of Online Courses (March 16-18, 2011):
IUC (presently COE) organized a three day training programme on “Development of Online Courses” from 16-18 March 2011. The training was attended by faculty of Open Universities, Private
Universities and Distance Education Institutes who offer courses through distance mode. More than 20 faculties participated in this programme.
The objectives were:
(a) Explain and describe the instructional design for online courses.
(b) Highlight some of the tools used to create online courses.
(c) Show some examples of online courses offered by IGNOU.
(d) Describe the learning management system.
(e) Create an online course using moodle and
(f) Publish the course.

17. Training cum Workshop on Research Methods for RTAs and Ph.D. Scholars of IGNOU (February 1-3, 2011):
The previous programme on Research Methods conducted by IUC (presently COE) was appreciated by the RTAs and Ph.D. Scholars. Keeping this in view the third round of training was conducted from February 1-3, 2011. 19 participants from various Schools of IGNOU attended this programme.
18. Workshop on Research Methods for Research and Teaching Assistants/Ph.D. Scholars of IGNOU (November 01-03, 2010):
In continuation with Training Programme on ‘Research Methods’ another programme was conducted by IUC (presently COE) from 1st to 3rd November, 2010 at IUC (presently COE) Lab. 25 RTAs from various Schools of IGNOU attended this programme.
19. Workshop on Research Methods for Research and Teaching Assistants of IGNOU (September 22-24, 2010):
IUC (presently COE) organized “Training cum Workshop on Research Methods” for Research and Teaching Assistants of IGNOU. 24 RTAs from various Schools of IGNOU attended the training programme.
The training objectives were:

(a) Explain and describe contemporary concepts of research methods
(b) Demonstrate understanding about broad parameters of research techniques that feed into research topic;
(c) Select and apply appropriate methodology or research design, sampling techniques, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
(d) Use SPSS package for data analysis.
20. Training Programme on Web 2.0 Tools in Distance Education (January 28-30, 2010):
A three day Training Programme on ‘Web 2.0 Tools in Distance Education’ for the faculty of State Open Universities was conducted by IUC (presently COE) from January 28-30, 2010. It was a Capacity Building Programme for the faculty of state open universities in web 2.0 social web software and to explore the usefulness of the new technology in Distance Education.
21. Training on Web 2.0 Tools in Distance Education (June 15-19, 2009):
IUC (presently COE) has organized a five day Training Programme on Web 2.0 Tools in Distance Education for Faculty of State Open Universities. The main aim behind the training was
(a) To explain the use of web tools in distance education system.
(b) To create new learning opportunities.
(c) To explain and use the potential of Wiki, Podcasting and Blogs and few other tools.
(d) To develop few effective web 2.0 tools.
(e) To apply the Web 2.0 approaches in ones own organization.
22. Training on Web 2.0 Tools in Distance Education (July 28-30, 2009):-
IUC (presently COE) has organized a three day Training Programme on Web 2.0 Tools in Distance Education for Faculty of IGNOU.
23. Teachers Training Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (February 9-20, 2009):
At the instance of Ministry of Human Resource Development, organized/hosted a Teachers Training Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning under the scheme of National Mission on Education through ICT, from 9-20 February 2009, 14 faculty members besides 9 RTAs from different Schools/Divisions of IGNOU attended the training programme. Resource Persons for the programme were drawn from NIIT and Microsoft Corporation. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. N.K.Sinha, Join Secretary, MHRD, New Delhi.
24. Training Programme on Development of Interactive Multimedia Course Materials (December 1-12, 2008):
IUC(presently COE) organized a ten day training programme on Development of Interactive Multimedia Course Materials from 1-12 December 2008. The main objectives of the training programme were to

(I) Develop a holistic understanding of the interactive multimedia and online programmes offered by distance teaching institutions in India, and other countries,
(II) Convert the existing learning materials in print into interactive multimedia through flash,
(III) Get hands-on practice in developing instructional design for interactive multimedia and online courses in various academic disciplines, and
(IV) Develop/transform at least one course/programme of IGNOU into CD-based interactive multimedia materials and also in the online mode. 13 faculty members from different Schools/Divisions of IGNOU who have some experience in developing interactive multimedia materials and have basic skills to work on computers for material development participated in the programme. During the 10 days, 13 faculty members developed one unit/lesson each of their course/programme. The faculty members are developing the rest of the course materials in their respective place with the guidance of experts. One flash programmer deputed from Arena Multimedia is working on the technical part of the course materials. The work is in progress.
