Post-Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE)

Eligibility:

Graduates in any discipline may take admission into this one year programme.

Medium of Instruction: English
 
Duration: Minimum 1 year and Maximum 3 years; offered in both January & July cycle of admissions.

 

Fee Structure: Rs. 6,000/- for full programme to be paid.

The Master of Arts in Distance Education (MADE) is an integrated programme of two years duration. This programme has been designed to develop human resources in various specialized areas of Distance Education. Those who complete the first year get the Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE) and the graduates can continue for the second year (through multiple entry exit) to complete the second year to obtain the Master of Arts in DE degree (Minimum 2 years and Maximum 4 year duration). 
 
DDE has been on offer since 1987; and the PGDDE and MADE have been on offer all over India and in above 20 countries supported by ADB, COL, SADC, UNESCO, WB.  The PGDDE/PGDDEOL is a unique professional development programme designed and developed by IGNOU with the aim of creating specialized human resources for the open and distance learning system. The programme was first launched by IGNOU in 1987 and has undergone five revisions to assimilate the changes in the ODL system. This programme is popular in the Commonwealth as well as in other countries of Asia, Africa, Caribbean countries and many developing countries. The PGDDE aims at promoting awareness about the concept and utility of ODL amongst teachers of ODL as well as the formal education system; and in doing so building capacities of human resources in these systems.
