The 21st century has brought a lot of excellent career opportunities to the youth of our nation. A lot of students, teachers and parents assume that career planning will take care of itself, and there is no need for career planning. However, the story is the other way round; it is not at all necessary that youth brilliance in one or more areas match with satisfaction and accomplishment in working life. Career planning is an art of planning the career of a student or young professional on how he/she is progressing professionally through life. Career planning provides students with a lot of clarity regarding their career objectives.

About the Programme

The National Centre for Innovations in Distance Education, IGNOU in collaboration with Careerstrokes.com has launched an e-learning initiative for career planning, career enhancement and success in life.

Objective

The main objective of this programme is to motivate, improve awareness levels, and provide a supporting framework toward career planning to under-graduate / graduate students and young professionals.
 

Modules

The modules include goal setting and career planning; leadership skills and management; stress management; communication skills; teamwork; interviews; innovation; decision making and negotiation; coaching; mentoring and time management; motivation and confidence building; business awareness and the art of writing.
 

Duration

The programme can be completed within a maximum period of 90 days
