Dr. Shalini Kushwaha obtained her B.Sc. (Home Science) with Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics and M.Sc. (Nutrition) from Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow University, Lucknow, U.P. She is UGC NET-JRF qualified and received her Ph.D. in Food & Nutrition from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab. She has also completed Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education (DNHE) from IGNOU, Certificate course in Legal Awareness for Women and Certificate Course in Clinical Nutrition.
She has more than 7 Years’ experience in teaching. Before joining Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) New Delhi, she was working as Assistant Professor in M.D.D.M. College, Muzaffarpur, Bihar (A Constituent Unit of B.R.A. Bihar University, Muzaffarpur). She has also worked in School of Home Science, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow, U.P. and College of Home Science, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. She is the recipient of “Young Woman Scientist Award -2021” from Agro Environmental Development Society and many other awards in scientific oral paper presentations in national conferences /seminars.
She has participated and presented many research papers in both national and international conferences/seminars. She is credited with one book and authored three chapters in books. She has also published many research papers in different national & international peer reviewed journals. Her area of interest includes community health problems, product development, maternal & child nutrition, food preservation, food safety. She has undergone many trainings, refresher courses and workshops.
She is Life Member of Indian Dietetic Association (IDA), Nutrition Society of India (NSI) and Home Science Association of India (HSAI).
