Dr. Sarda Prasad

Assistant Professor

Dr Sarda Prasad is currently working as Assistant Professor, School of Extension and Development Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) New Delhi, India. He has completed Post Doctoral (PDF) research, on Impact of Migration on Socio-economic Status of households from Centre for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), School of Social Sciences (SSS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi during 03 march 2015 to 10 April 2021. Before PDF, he had completed MPhil and PhD on ailing and hospitalization in India; and on Influence of rural out-Migration on Agriculture respectively, from CSRD/SSS/JNU, New Delhi. His master is in Extension Education and graduated in Agriculture Honours. He has also obtained degree MA Economics, PG Diploma in Rural Development (Gold medal) and PG Diploma in Women and Gender Studies and successfully completed certificate program on Population and Sustainable Development (ACPSD) and Certificate programme on Life and Thought of Dr BR Ambedkar (CLTA).

He has participated in various Faculty Development Programmes and Training Programmes conducted by various national institutes of India. He has presented nearly 40 papers on various social and Development issues in national and international conferences/seminars in India and in Abroad (Malaysia, China, and Egypt) and 31 research articles published in the reputed journals. His main research interests are on Migration Studies, Rural Development and Agriculture, labour Studies, Women studies and Health Status in India especially rural areas. Dr Sarda Prasad has joined School of Extension and Development Studies (SOEDS), IGNOU, New Delhi in August 2021. He is engage in developing programme, PG Diploma in Population and Family Health Studies and MA in Population and Family Health.
