Dr. Deepanwita Srivastava


Dr. Deepanwita Srivastava is Associate Professor of French and specializes in the areas of Didactics of French Language, Open Distance & Distributed Learning, Translation & Interpretation and Mobility and Travel Studies.

With a long experience in teaching French at several universities and institutions of Higher Education in India she is counted among the pioneers of French Studies in Open and Distance Learning. 

Actively involved in academic projects with the Embassy of France, India Africa Virtual University, Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Canada, ICSSR, UNESCO, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) N. Delhi, Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) and the Shastri Indo Canadian Institute N. Delhi, she has been appointed as Principal Lexicographer & Language Expert by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and currently heading the United Nations project on the Hindi-French Bilingual Dictionary under the Central Hindi Directorate, N. Delhi.

Widely published and Invited/Visiting scholar at several universities internationally, she has guided numerous doctoral studies contributing to innovation and knowledge creation in domains of her specialization as also in the domain of Open and Distance Learning of foreign languages.
