The School of Gender and Development Studies is carrying out research on Gender Mapping of IGNOU. IGNOU offers open and distance learning opportunities through different media such as conventional print material mode, counselling sessions at study centres of IGNOU situated across the country, lectures and interactive sessions/ teleconferencing through EDUSAT and Intensive Radio Counselling. Besides this, IGNOU uses innovative technologies while offering various programmes online. IGNOU, as a provider of higher education, provides multiple modes of teaching and reaching out to learners from varied contexts. Therefore, the present study aims to carry out a Gender Mapping exercise of all the existing media of instruction offered by IGNOU to analyze the gender sensitivity components. Each programme/course in each medium will be chosen to analyze these differentials.
