Prof Nilima Srivastava
Director
Nilima Srivastava is a trained social worker from Dept of Social Work (1981). She was awarded PhD in 1993 from University of Lucknow on 'Role Conflict among Working Female Professionals in Lucknow City'. Her areas of specialisation are women and work and child welfare.
She was faculty at Department of Social Work, University of Delhi and Women's Studies and Development Centre, University of Delhi. Apart from teaching she was actively involved in other academic activities of the Department viz. Rural Camps, Supportive Field Instruction Programme.
She was also keenly associated with the cultural activities undertaken at the Department. At the Women's Studies and Development Centre, she headed a research project on the Girl Child carried out in collaboration with five other institutions in north India. Apart from research she had been carrying advocacy, training and sensitisation of students and functionaries at grassroots.
Her publications include two books: ‘Women on the path of progress (a study of decadal change in role conflict among women professionals)’ and ‘Girl Child: Changing Perceptions’ Volume I & II.
Several of her papers have appeared in national and international publications. She has been invited by various institutions to take sessions on Gender Issues and conducts training programmes on gender sensitisation. Her current assignments are developing PG rogramme in Gender and Women's Studies, conducting gender sensitisation programmes, training and research
