Prof. Jitendra Kumar Srivastava

Professor

Jitendra Srivastava,hails from Deoria District in Uttar Pradesh. He completed his graduation from Gorakhpur and later studied for his Masters and Doctorate in Hindi Literature from JNU, New Delhi. He is presently working as a Professor of Hindi Literature in the School of Humanities. He held the charge of Registrar of IGNOU since 31st August,2017 to 31st August, 2018. He is also holding the post of Director, School of Tourism & Hospitality Service Management, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.
He is a renowned poet and critic with 24 books to his credit, which include In Dino Halchal, Anbhay Katha, Asunder-Sunder, BilkulTumhariTarah, Kayantaran, BharatiyaSamaj, RashtravadaurPremchand, SarjakKaSwapn,Vichardhara, NayeVimarshaurSamkaleenKavita, UpanyaskiParidhi and RachanakaJeevdravya. His literary criticism has received world wide recognition in the domain of Hindi literature. He has been admired by various social networking sites and his literary and academic contributions are deeply cited.

Apart from his recognition in the literary fraternity, he has received several prestigious awards that include the Bharat Bhushan Aggarwal Puraskar, DevishankarAwastheeSamman, BhartiyaBhashaParishadPuraskar, Ram Chandra Shukla Puraskar, Vijay Dev Narayan SahiPuraskar, KritiSamman, Ram Vilas Sharma AlochanaPuraskar, ParamparaRiturajSamman etc.

He has delivered more than 150 lectures at various universities and institutions across India. Seven research works have also been undertaken on his prominent works. BhartiyaGyanpeeth has also published renowned books like Godaan, Rangbhumi and Dhruvswamini with the introductory note by Prof.Jitendra Srivastava. He has contributed more than 30 chapters in various edited books. Hehas also been a jury member of various important awards like the BhartiyaGyanpeethNavlekhanPuraskar etc.
