Dr OP Dewal
Associate Professor
Dr. Dewal has about 30 years of experience in Radio and Television, especially in the area of education. He has worked as Joint Director (Software) (2005-06) at the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), University Grants Commission (UGC) and Deputy Director (1999-09) at the Electronic Media Production Centre (EMPC), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
He has also worked as Senior Producer (1996-99) and Producer (1988-96) at IGNOU. He has worked as Transmission Executive in All India Radio (1980-88). He has been a Teacher, Trainer, Course Writer, Paper-setter, Examiner and Visiting Faculty for media- related courses for various institutions and universities of repute.
Dr Dewal produced a number of Radio and TV programmes. He wrote more than 100 scripts (of different formats) for Radio and Television. He has been a regular Broadcaster for Radio and Television.
He has done professional courses / trainings from NHK, Tokyo (Japan); Space Application Centre, ISRO; FTII, Pune; Manipal Institute of Communication; and IIMC. He was given awards for creative writing and for contribution in the area of Distance Education.
He was a National Jury Member for CEC-UGC Video Competition and AIR Annual Awards Competition. He supervised special projects like Gyan Vani, Gyan Darshan, Agriculture Channel, North-East Media Focus etc. and conducted tele-conferencing and Interactive Radio-Counselling sessions at IGNOU.
