Presently Dr. Harish Kumar Sethi is an Assistant Professor in School of Translation Studiesand Training in Indira Gandhi Naional Open University since 2009. He started his career as non-academician in 1984 and worked on various secretarial/administrative posts in Central Hindi Directorate (1984-85), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (1986), Jawaharlal Nehru University (1986-87), C.L. Bhalla Dayanand Model School (D.A.V. Managing Committee) (1987) and Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi (1987-2009) respectively. Dr. Sethi joined IGNOU as Assistant Professor in January 2009.
Dr. Sethi is also associated with various NGOs like Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad, New Delhi Evening Hindi Institute (Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan), Nav Unanayan Sahityik Society etc. He is the Honorary Editor of Translation, Art, Science and Craft Research Journal called “Anuvad” (quarterly) published by Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad, New Delhi.
Dr. Sethi has worked on various verticals of literature and specialized in Translation studies, Functional Hindi, Medieval Hindi Poetry, Technical Terminology, Distance Education, Lexicography and Sociological Study. In academic area, he has contributed by way of number of books (independent and edited), articles, research papers, book reviews, translation work, poems etc.
