Dr. Rachna Agarwal is Associate Professor in the School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET), IGNOU, New Delhi. She is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Delhi). Dr. Rachna received her Doctorate degree (Environmental Science) from IIT-Delhi in 2006. Her work involved investigation of health effects caused by ambient air pollution on the pulmonary function status of individuals exposed to Vehicular and Indoor air pollutants. She has publications in journals of national and international repute.

She has more than 14 years of Teaching experience and more than 7 years of Research experience. Prior to IGNOU she has worked with premier institutions like: IIT-Delhi; NEERI-Nagpur; NIHFW-Delhi, NPL-Delhi and DRDO-Delhi. She was actively involved in R & D activities/ projects for Industrial sector with regard to ‘Environmental Monitoring and Assessment’.

She is actively involved in teaching and guiding research scholars at IGNOU. She is the Programme Coordinator for Bachelor of Arts (Voc) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (BAVMSME), launched in July 2022 and Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sales Management (PGDPSM) at SOVET, IGNOU. Currently she is involved in the development 04 courses for the B.A. (Voc) MSME prog. viz., MSMEs and Rural India; Traditional Rural Enterprises; Entrepreneurial Sectors in Urban India and HRM & Industrial relations in MSMEs.

Her areas of interest include Environment and Health; Air Quality assessment; Water and Wastewater quality management Air and Water Pollution remediation; Entrepreneurial Sectors in Rural and Urban India; Research and Innovation.
