Upgrade skills in electricity sector from IGNOU

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers an Advanced Certificate in Power Distribution Management (ACPDM) developed by the School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), IGNOU, in collaboration with the Ministry of Power, USAID-India and the Power Finance Corporation under the Distribution Reform Upgrades and Management (DRUM) project.
The advanced certificate programme is meant for professionals employed in electrical power utilities or the electricity sector to upgrade their skills, enhance systematic efficiency and deliver quality power to the satisfaction of the beneficiaries.
The eligibility criteria for the programme is engineering graduates, engineering diploma, graduates or equivalent with two years experience in electricity sector.
The programme’s objectives are to disseminate information about the current developments and reforms in the power distribution sector, generate awareness about the applications of emerging technologies and trends in the sector and to educate the personnel employed in the sector about various prospects of power distribution management.
The last date to apply for this programme is July 30, 2012 without late fee and August 14, 2012 with late fee of Rs.200. Student handbook and prospectus is available in all the regional centers of the university as well as in the university’s headquarters which can be purchased for Rs.100 and submitted along with the requisite fee in the form of a demand draft to the concerned regional centre.
