Admission Notification for July 2016 Cycle in IGNOU

The most popular distance education institute, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is one of the Mega-Universities of the world established by an Act of Parliament in 1985. An opportunity to register as a student, admissions for July 2016 Cycle has been announced for a wide range of academic programmes starting from Certificate to Masters levels by IGNOU. Last date of application for admissions in Masters, Bachelor and Diploma programmes is 17th August 2016 and for Certificate level programmes and Bachelor Preparatory Program (BPP) is 15 June 2016.
Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) is a unique opportunity for those who do not have 10+2 qualification and are above 18 years of age to enter into higher education. BPP is a Bridge course only for students seeking admission in IGNOU undergraduate arts and commerce programmes.
IGNOU offers Master of Computer Applications (MCA); Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), MA (Economics); MA (English); MA (Hindi); MA (History); MA (Political Science); MA (Psychology); MA (Public Administration); MA (Sociology); MA (Education); MA (Philosophy); MA (Gandhi & Peace Studies); MA (Extension & Development Studies); MA (Anthropology); MA (Gender & Development Studies); Master of Social Work (MSW);Master of Social Work (Counselling); MA (Distance Education); MA (Rural Development); MA (Adult Education); MA (Women’s & Gender Studies); Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTM); Master of Commerce (MCom); MSc (Dietetics and Food Services Management); MSc (Counseling and Family Therapy);and MA (Translation Studies).
The Bachelor degree programmes are Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Arts (BA), BA (Tourism Studies); Bachelor of Commerce (BCom); Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA); Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLIS); Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).
Admission to other programmes at the level of PG DIPLOMA, DIPLOMA, ADVANCED CERTIFICATE, PG CERTIFICATE & CERTIFICATE are also on offer.
For eligibility, fee and other related details, one can refer to Student Handbook and Prospectus which can be purchased from any of the Regional Centers in person for Rs.200/-, or can be obtained by post from the Director, Student Service Centre (SSC), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068 by sending a DD of Rs.250/- in favour of IGNOU, New Delhi.
