Campus Placement Drive at IGNOUU on May 18, 2016

The Campus Placement Cell (CPC) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) organised a Campus Placement Drive on May 18, 2016 where huge gathering of job seekers was witnessed, over 600 students participated in the fair. The students were interviewed by five participating companies, namely ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd., NetAmbit, Genpact India Ltd., Interglobe Technologies and Globus Infocom. Every student could appear before a maximum of two companies. Thus, on an average, each company interviewed around 100 students.

Merely large number of attendees was not only the enthusiastic aspect of the event, rather total number of selected/shortlisted students was also quite encouraging. While maximum number of selected candidates were seen in ICICI Prudential and Genpact which picked up 26 and 18 students respectively. In addition, other companies shortlisted over 100 more students for the next round to be conducted at their premises.

Prof. Manoj Kulshrestha, Director Incharge, CPC, expressed his satisfaction and happiness over the large turn out of the students for the event. He further informed that for providing better and frequent placement opportunities for the students, CPC is organizing a Job Fair with one of the IGNOU Study Centre, Alliance Educare on May 21, 2016for the eligible students of RC Delhi-1. The Job Fair will start at 10 AM at Kasturba Balika Vidyalaya, Ishwar Nagar, New Delhi – 110 065 in which 8 companies have confirmed their participation. CPC has plans to organise such job fairs more frequently for the students of other regions in near future.
