The disciplines covered are certificate in security management of strategic installations, diplomas in Automobile Technology, Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Fire Fighting & Sanitation of Strategic Installation, Hotel Management & Office Administration, Investigation & Security, Instrumental Music, Material Management, Mechanical, Meteorological Management, Physical Education & Small Arms Weapon Handling, Para Medical Science, Strategic Security Operations and Telecommunication.

 

Under the MOU between IGNOU and Indian Air Force the in-service training imparted to airmen in their training centres are to be recognized by IGNOU through issuing certificates, diplomas and associated degrees. This will give them the opportunity to join the Bachelor degree programme of IGNOU under vertical mobility scheme as envisaged in the Akashdeep project. IGNOU expressed its desire to sign MOU with Air Force for establishment of Regional Centres and Study Centres for providing its academic programmes offered in open and distance learning mode for air force personnel and their family members. For Indian Army, Navy and Assam Rifles similar arrangements have already been made..
