IGNOU offers distance learning certificate programme in Organic Farming

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites application for a six-month “Certificate in Organic Farming” (COF) Programme for July 2013 session.

In a first of its kind initiative, (IGNOU) in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has developed a 6-months Certificate in Organic Farming. The certificate programme aims at imparting knowledge and proficiency in Organic production practices, Certification process and marketing of organically raised agricultural produces and promoting self-employment and income generation. The minimum duration of the certificate programme is six months. However, the candidate has the flexibility of completing the programme within two years’ time. The eligibility requirement for this certificate programme is 10+2 pass-outs or Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) from IGNOU. The programme fee is Rs. 4,000. The programme is offered in English and Hindi languages.

All the interested candidates from rural areas and below poverty line urban candidates can avail 50 per cent fee concession on submission of valid proof.
