IGNOU offers non-formal channel to higher education

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites applications from all those students who wish to pursue further studies but are blocked by the barricade of essential basic qualifications required to fulfil his/her wish of being a literate citizen.

The University offers solution to 18 plus age group candidates who have not passed their 10+2 exams, through its platform of Bachelors Preparatory Programme (BPP). This programme is offered to those students who wish to do Bachelors degree of IGNOU but do not have required eligibility qualifications. In the absence of such a qualifying certificate these students are deprived of higher education. To enable such students to enter into higher education stream, IGNOU has designed this preparatory programme.

The structure of the programme comprises of three options, out of which student can choose any one. It offers Preparatory course in General Mathematics, Preparatory course in Social Sciences and Preparatory course in Commerce.  Last date to submit the application form is *30th July 2012 (late fee of Rs. 200 shall be charged up to 14th August 2012)*.

The Student Handbook and Prospectus is available in all the regional centers as well as in the University’s Headquarters for Rs.100. The application form along with the requisite fee in the form of demand draft is to be submitted in the nearest regional centre.

The preparatory programme is offered in Oriya, English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Telegu, Malayalam, Gujarati languages.
