Two Day Workshop on Research Methodology in Distance Education in IGNOU ended

Indira Gandhi National Open University’s Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education (STRIDE) organized a two day workshop on Research Methodology in Distance Education from 8th July 2015 to 9th July 2015 at IGNOU.

The workshop was inaugurated on 8th of July 2015 by The Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof.Sushma Yadav, addressing the workshop she said “Research is not easy, but it can be pleasant and for that one should have desire to research” She also said that the best part of this workshop is to have inter-disciplinary participants, which will help the participants from other disciplines to know that research has a wide approach. Prof. C.R.K. Murthy, Director STRIDE said “We have mix group of participants which certainly help to tackle issues in some aspects which arises in the due course of research”

Workshop Coordinator Prof. P.K. Biswas gave basic information regarding the objective of the workshop; he said” in the previous workshop we had 25 participants so, as in the current workshop also we have 25 participants, this workshop is based on complete participation rather than lectures.”

25 participants of different Schools and Divisions who had interest in systemic research and needed special training to conduct systemic research took part in this workshop. This workshop had a judicious mix of Digital Media utilization as the sessions were purely based on PowerPoint presentations, interactions, group discussions, individual and group activities.

The two day workshop concluded on 9th July 2015.
