STRIDE faculty members are working continuously in collaboration with other institutions and individuals at national and international level. Some of the significant collaborative and networking activities undertaken by STRIDE faculty include:

The PGDDE and MADE programmes were offered to 14 Commonwealth countries from Asia, Africa, the South Pacific, and the West Indies under the Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship Scheme, launched jointly by the COL (Canada), IGNOU and the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) in 1995. The PGDDE and MADE courses were revised in 2000 to make them more international in character. Under this scheme, more than 100 students have completed their PGDDE and MADE programme. From July 2005, COL has offered 50 more fellowships to Senior faculty of Nigeria to pursue the MADE programme. From 2007-2008 South Africa Development Community (SADC) has sponsored 40 students of MADE under Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship in Botswana, Malawi, Lesotho, and Zambia.

Under the collaboration of IGNOU and UNESCO-IICBA, the PGDDE and MADE programmes are being offered to students from African countries since 2000. So far, teachers from 6 countries (Ethiopia, Liberia, Madagascar, Ghana, Gambia and Sierra Leone) have participated under the scheme.

Under the aegis of Distance Education Modernisation Project, Government of Sri Lanka and IGNOU collaboration, 18 senior faculty members from nine Universities in Sri Lanka are part of the programme from 2006. This is part of further capacity building and modernization of distance education in Sri Lanka.
