Two academic programmes developed by STRIDE are: Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE), and Master of Arts in Distance Education (MADE). There are five courses in each of the programmes. |

| Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE) |
The one year PGDDE Programme is the first of its kind in the country, designed with the intention of providing the essential know-how, skills and professional knowledge appropriate for distance educators. |

| The Post Graduate Diploma aims at |
| |
• promoting the concept and utility of distance education in India in particular, and the developing world in general, and
• developing the much-needed human resources for the existing open universities and distance education institutions, and those which may come up in the near future. |

| Master of Arts in Distance Education (MADE) |
| |
| The programme aims at building professional human resources in distance education who can take up research and training activities in the field. The minimum and maximum duration to complete these programmes are 1 year and 4 years respectively |

| Admission Procedures |
| |
IGNOU announces walk-in registration throughout the year for admission to January and July academic sessions. Student Handbook and Prospectus are available at the IGNOU HQs and all its Regional Centres and Study Centres. Student registration is done at all Regional Centres between May and October in India, and through sponsoring institutions in the case of foreign students.
All graduates are eligible for admission to the PGDDE programme. Those who have completed erstwhile DDE or PGDDE programme of IGNOU are eligible for admission to the MADE programme. Both the programmes commence in January and July every year. |

| RESEARCH DEGREE PROGRAMMES |

| Ph.D in Distance Education |
| |
| Through the Area Committee of the Research Council, Ph.D in Distance Education has been launched as research under the systemic areas. This Ph.D programme follows the University’s Ordinance on Research Degree Programmes Admission is open round the year. |

| M.Phil. in Distance Education |
| |
| M.Phil. programme in Distance Education shall be on offer soon. The M.Phil. programme shall be a bridge between MA in Distance Education and Ph.D in Distance Education. The course work component of the M.Phil. programme shall also enable non-M.Phil. degree holders to join Ph.D. in Distance Education. |
