Incubation and Nurturing of Innovations

• Gold Medal for Innovations

For the purpose of recognizing innovation in ODL system as envisaged by the NCIDE, IGNOU has introduced a Gold Medal for innovation in distance education.

The Gold medal for 2006 was awarded to an innovative instructional design for Certificate Programme in Craft &Design (Pottery).

The Gold medal for 2007 was awarded to an innovative instructional design for Certificate Programme in Motor Cycle Service and Repair of the IGNOU-HHML Project.

• Development of Innovation Management System

Aiming at facilitating the various systems of ODL, the NCIDE has developed an Innovation Management System (IMS). The IMS is a system to manage innovations in an effective manner so that it can be utilized further for reference, implementation and for generating new innovations in the University. The IMS comprises a front-end system to capture and develop ideas, and a back-end system to assess and implement those ideas.
