Development
of Innovative Learning Solutions
To provide
quality education to the learners, NCIDE is working towards
developing innovative learning solutions. This is being done
in collaboration with the faculties of different School s of
IGNOU and also with other stakeholders outside IGNOU. The
initiatives taken towards innovative learning solutions are
outlined as follows:
-
Development of E-learning Package
NCIDE in collaboration with SOSS
is developing e-learning package. 118 modules of SOSS have been converted into
e-learning package. The main features of the e-learning package includes due
insertion of text relevant graphics on each page, interactivity, every kind of
course assessment through multiple choice questions, fill in the blanks,
completing of paragraphs and part identification on a image etc. and feedback.
Voice and video clips can also be added as well.
-

SOHS, has developed an innovative multiple media package for the Integrated
Management of Childhood Illness (IMNCI) component of the post Graduate Diploma
in Maternal and Child Health (PGDMCH) programme for MBBS graduates.

Development of Virtual Science Lab
NCIDE has developed a prototype of an interactive, multimedia-rich Virtual Laboratory
System for science education at a distance. Currently, the Virtual Lab System
hosts open source experiments in Physics and Chemistry. The learner-friendly
features of the Virtual Lab System allow the learners to access it anytime
anywhere: to view lab practical demonstrations; to perform selected lab
experiments in a simulated environment; and to interact with their mentors and
peer groups both synchronously and asynchronously in a digital environment.
