Chief Executive-OBE :- Dr. Don Olcott Dr. Don Olcott, Jr. is Chief Executive of The Observatory of Borderless Higher Education (OBHE). Dr. Olcott is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) and served as USDLA president from 2006-07.
He serves on the Executive Committee of the UK’s Council of Validating Universities (CVU), the USDLA Board of Directors, and as a member of the external Strategy Group of the Open University.
Dr. Olcott is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA). Dr. Olcott also serves on the HEFCE Online Learning Taskforce and the British Council’s International Indexing expert task force. Dr. Olcott also serves on the Editorial Boards of Open Learning, The American Journal of Distance Education, EURODL, and Distance Education.
He was the 1998 recipient of the Charles Wedemeyer award at the Outstanding Distance Education Practitioner in North America awarded by The American Center for the Study of Distance Education and the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Dr. Olcott was the 2010 recipient of Western Washington University’s Lifetime Achievement award for his leadership and contributions to higher education.
