OF COMMERCE (M.COM)

School of Management Studies,
the biggest business school in Open Learning System in the world, has developed
an innovative programme Master of Commerce (M.Com) with specialisation
in International Business Operations. The main objective of this programme
is to equip the students with necessary conceptual, entrepreneurial and analytical
skills required for handling the Business Operations, particularly in International
Business. The curriculum focusses on the applied aspects of Business Operations.
The salient features of this programme are as follows:
Programme Structure
In order to be eligible
for the award of the Master of Commerce (M.Com) degree, a student has to complete
the following 12 courses equivalent to 72 credits (1 credit is equal to 30 study
hours) comprising of six core courses and six specialisation courses in International
Business Operations.

Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Operations
To ensure flexibility, modular system is introduced with the following two exit points:
Eligibility for Admission
Graduates in any discipline or equivalence from a recognised university are eligible for admission to this M.Com Programme.
Medium of Instruction
This programme is offered in English medium. Printed course materials and assignments are sent to the students in English. Audio/Video lessons and counselling are also provided in English. Students are expected to submit the assignments and attempt the term-end examinations in English medium only.
Duration of the Programme
The programme has been designed for a minimum duration of two years. A student once admitted, his registration is valid for five years. Thus, a student can complete this programme within a minimum period of two years or a maximum period of five years. In case of failure to do so, the student will be required to re-register by paying the prescribed programme fee.
Fee Structure
Fee for this M.Com. programme (includes examination fee and registration fee) is Rs. 3700 in the first year and Rs. 3600 in the second year of study. Course fee can be paid through a Bank Draft obtained from any one of the scheduled banks in favour of IGNOU and should be payable at the city where your Regional Centre is situated. Please write your name and address on the back of the Bank Draft to ensure proper credit to your fee account. Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
When to Apply
The advertisement inviting applications for the admission to the programme generally appears in national newspapers in the months of April / May every year. The last date to submit filled application forms is normally 31st August.
