MPDD dispatches study materials to students in two cycles, January and July in each academic year. Earlier Self-instructional Materials(SIMs) or study material  were despatched directly to students from Headquarters.  Now the entire process is decentralized and study material is despatched  Regional centre wise,  as per their requirement based on enrolment in their  respective Regional Centres, for various programmes. In the year 2011-12 MPDD Stores have dispatched a total of 37 lac packets to the all Regional Centres including Army/Navy students, Community Colleges, Marketing Unit, Convergence Unit and other Divisions/School of IGNOU.

Bulk despatch  is also done by the  Convergence  Unit of MPDD which caters to upto 501 Partner  Institutions enrolled under the Convergence Scheme, comprising of approx. 1,20,000/- students enrolled in upto 291 programmes of the University.

During the year 2011-12, MPDD has dispatched 7.23 lac no. of prospectuses to the Regional Centres and collected a revenue of approximately Rs 9.38 Crore on account of sale of prospectus from these Regional Centres. The undelivered packets of study material are also monitored and re-despatched to students with possible corrections against requests received from the students either through their letters, phone calls, fax, e-mails or personal visits.
