An International Conference on Collaborative and Networked Learning is held at IGNOU and a Web Meeting is held via cyberspace.
Prof. A.W. Khan takes over as fourth Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. N.R. Arthnayake, Vice-Chancellor, Open University of Sri Lanka, delivers the Third Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture on ‘Profile of a 21st Century Distance Teacher -A Developing World Paradigm’.
The School of Humanities organises the third Anuvrat Lecture at India International Centre. Prof. Bhalchandra Nemade delivers a lecture on 'Nativism and Modernity'.
The School of Continuing Education conducts tele-conferencing for the 'Women's Empowerment Programme', prepared in collaboration with the Deptt. of Women and Child Development and MHRD. Hon'ble Sh. Murli Manohar Joshi. Union Minister, MHRD, participates.
Computer Division conducts 8 months long training to all IGNOU officals and staff jointly with School of Computer & Information Scinence, under IT-TRAP Programme of the university.
