The major objective of the IGNOU-APEDA Collaboration is to address the specific problems being faced by different players and facilitators of agricultural exports. The programme is meant for producer farmers/ rural youth, women/ export facilitators, entrepreneurs to equip them with necessary awareness, knowledge and skills so that they facilitate agricultural marketing/ export-import while generating livelihoods and income earning. The emphasis will be on the challenges arising in the post WTO scenario. The broad outlines of the programmes have been approved by the APEDA, and its Board has sanctioned to release Rs. 1.25 crores for the three programmes under the project.
The objective is to develop vocational and entrepreneurial programmes for development of competent and productive human resources in the rural areas through open learning system. An awareness package in Hindi on Dairy Farming for the SGSY (Swaranjayanti Gram Swarozgar Scheme) has been developed under the project. The package will be implemented in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, UP and Rajasthan. The learning modules have been printed and programme has been implemented in the States of Rajasthan and Bihar in collaboration with the respective State Dairy Federations.
The objective of Project is to develop competent and productive Human Resource in the area of Sericulture and ancillary disciplines, through an array of customised open learning educational/training packages, using multi-media technologies. The vocational and entrepreneurial programmes being developed for rural youth, skilled/semi-skilled workers working in sericulture, personnel working in state dept. of sericulture, CSB, NGOs, farmers/entrepreneurs involved in mulberry cultivation and silkworm rearing under the project are:
- Certificate in Sericulture
- Diploma in Silkworm Seed Production Technology
- Diploma in Silkworm Rearing
The project is supported by the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is envisaged that the trained workforce will facilitate enhanced productivity of the Silk and orient the youth towards self-occupation at the village/community level. Certificate in Sericulture is on offer.
