About the Programme
The programmes related to Pediatric Nutrition, has been designed on a modular approach, keeping the major thrust of the University of provision of employment/career orientation of programmes in mind and providing opportunities for higher and continuing education to large segments of population.
The professional and career oriented modules prepared as part of this exercise integrates education and training and focuses on upgrading the knowledge of healthcare practitioners, nutritionist and other stakeholders.
A number of modules (as highlighted under programme structure) have been developed as part of this innovative project which could be drawn upon horizontally across the following programmes, namely:
- Post Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Nutrition (PGCPDN) (16 credits), and
- Post Graduate Diploma in Pediatric Nutrition (PGDPDN) (32 credits)
Post Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Nutrition (PGCPDN) is a six month distance (online) programme worth 16 credits. Students who successfully complete the six month online programme are eligible to graduate with the PG Certificate in Pediatric Nutrition.
Students have an option to continue with the programme further and after successfully completing additional 16 credit course work (total 32 credits) would be eligible for a Postgraduate Diploma in Pediatric Nutrition (PGDPDN). The Diploma takes one year to complete.
