Certificate in Competency Enhancement for Auxiliary Nurse Midwife(ANM)/Female Health Worker (FHW)

Eligibility:

 
In service ANMS/ FHWS who have qualified Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)/ Female Health Worker (FHW) training course (Revised) with minimum of two years of work experience

OR

Those who have qualified Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)/ Female Health Worker (FHW) training course (Old) with a minimum of three years of work experience

 
The Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)/Female Health Worker (FHW) is the most important health functionary of grass roots level. In order to meet the challenge of advancement in health care technology and health needs of the country, there is a need to update the knowledge and skills of these health functionaries at grass roots level.
 
Keeping this in view School of Health Science has developed a Certificate Programme in Competency Enhancement of ANM/FHW.
 
The development of the programme is funded by Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Family Welfare. Certificate programme in competency enhancement for ANM/FHW is a one year certificate programme of 32 credits. (14 credits in theory 18 credits in practical). It has 4 theory and 4 practical courses.

Objectives of the Programme
 
  • To enhance the knowledge and skills of practicing ANMs / FHWs in Reproductive and Child Health,communication and socio-cultural areas including Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness; and
  • To enable ANMs/FHWs to develop positive attitude towards community in providing health care through community participation.
