Dr. P Venkatramana

Associate Professor

Dr. P. Venkatramana is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Anthropology.   He is the Course Coordinator for two courses, Archaeological Anthropology and Human Genetics in the Masters Programme in Anthropology.  He is the course coordinator for four courses Archaeological Anthropology, Biological Diversity in Human Populations, Human Population Genetics and Public Health and Epidemiology for the soon to be launched B.Sc. (Hons) Anthropology under UGC’s Choice Based Credit System and also the course coordinator for two courses Fundamentals of Archaeological Anthropology and Anthropology of Indigenous people for B.A. (General).
Dr. Venkatramana is Coordinator for the course Research Methods and Fieldwork for UGC’s e-PG pathshala and contributed three modules for the course. 
His area of specialization is Physical Anthropology and Epidemiology.   He has been awarded a UGC Major Research Project titled “Prevalence of Obesity and its Association with Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose Levels”.  He has published a book “Apolipoprotein E polymorphism in Indian Populations: Comparison with other World Populations”.  To his credit he has published several research papers in National and International reputed journals and presented his research findings in National/International conferences/seminars.
