B.A.(Hon.) Psychology comprises of fourteen Core courses. Each course is of six credits, spread over six semesters of your programme. All the core courses have either practical or tutorial worth two credits. Along with the core courses, there are four Discipline Specific Elective courses offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters. Together these core courses and the discipline specific electives offer a basic perspective on behavior and individual differences, life span psychology, behavior in social context, application of psychology in diverse fields, and conducting research in psychology. These courses will enable the learner to acquire knowledge about psychology as a subject which will further help in their post graduate education in the related area. We also offer in this programme, Generic Elective courses which are interdisciplinary in nature and these would help the learner in the study of psychology by placing the discipline in the context of wider social sciences. At present, we are specifying the generic electives that are to be opted in the first four semesters. Skill based courses are offered in the third and fourth semesters, which again are from different discipline. Ability Enhancement courses are offered in the first two semesters which will develop a practical and vocational perspective (please refer to the list of courses being offered in the programme). The queries related to the programme maybe send to the programme coordinator at bapchsoss@ignou.ac.in

Thus, assignment will also help to reinforce learning in distance learning system of education. The assignment consists of a set of questions and activities that can be answered at by referring to the self-learning material. The assignment may cover long answer type, and short answer type questions. The assignment will carry thirty percent weightage in the result. Learner will be required to obtain at least forty marks as pass percentage in each assignment, for each course separately. Each assignment will carry 100 marks.
Tutorial

Practical
Few courses in the programme have practical component. The attendance of academic counselling for practical is mandatory. There is a separate term end examination for the practical component.
Term-end Examination
The term-end examination is the major component of the evaluation system and it carries seventy percent weightage in the result. The University conducts term-end examination twice a year i.e., in June and December. The learner may write the examination only after completion of the course, failing which she/he may write the same in December or June of subsequent years within the total duration of the programme.
