This programme has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
Objectives of the programme:
- Imparting knowledge and skills for minimizing the post-harvest losses, primary processing of fruits and vegetables at the production areas/clusters and production of value added products.
- Developing entrepreneurship and skill development for self-employment in food processing and associated activities.
Medium of Instruction: English and Hindi
Target Group:
Farmers involved in fruits & vegetable production/ Orchardist, Entrepreneurs involved in primary & minimal processing of fruits & vegetables, traders of fruits & vegetables, Marginal/small farmers, agricultural labourers, Farm women, Self Help Groups and rural youth and food processing workers.
Counselling sessions:
The programme has both theory and practical components with equal weightage. There are 11 days of counselling sessions which includes theory and practical. The participation in the counselling session is an integral part of the programme. 75% attendance in the counselling session is compulsory to get participation certificate from the School. The counselling sessions are held at the study centres according to the schedule drawn by the programme-in-charge.
