It is the public face of the world's largest university. Open Letter, IGNOU's monthly newsletter, is the medium through which the University communicates with all its stakeholders — from faculty, students and administrative staff, to officials of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and other academics and experts who contribute to IGNOU's initiatives both in India and abroad.

It seeks to highlight the diverse and inclusive nature of the University and the unmatched range of programmes and courses it offers. It has emerged as a useful interactive forum that allows students to learn about University activities, while giving faculty a glimpse into the lives of students.
