The 3-year B.Sc. programme under Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) has been offered to cater to the growing demands of quality education and employable workforce with science background. This programme has been designed in view of NEP 2020 with a semester approach in mind.

The programme aims to provide high quality higher education in multidisciplinary subjects through the open and distance learning mode by providing a broad-spectrum exposure to the students to a variety of interesting theoretical and practical concepts which will help the in acquiring knowledge with a wider perspective. Thus, by providing opportunities for career progression and higher education in science disciplines, the programme will be in alignment with learner needs and societal requirements.

Programme Objectives
Learners pursuing this programme would be able to:

• foster deep interest in learning Science subjects.
• develop broad and balanced knowledge and understanding of definitions, concepts, principles and theorems.
• familiarize with suitable learning methods to handle issues and problems in sciences.
• enhance the ability to apply the knowledge and skills acquired by them during the programme to solve specific theoretical and applied problems in science.
• provide sufficient knowledge and skills enabling to undertake further studies in science.
• develop a range of generic skills helpful in employment, internships and social activities.
• appreciate the complex interplay between science and society.

Exit Option: UG Certificate would be awarded after successful completion of first two semesters, i.e., 40 credits along with 4 credits of VOC and UG Diploma in would be awarded after successful completion of first 4 semesters, i.e., 80 credits along with 4 credits of VOC.

Programme Details:
To successfully complete this programme, you will have to earn 120 credits over a period of 3 to 6 years depending on your convenience. Discipline Specific Core courses are offered by 7 disciplines, i.e., Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology and a learner has to choose any 3 disciplines from the above 7 disciplines to complete this programme. In the Structural framework, DSC-1A, DSC-1B, and DSC-1C depict the first discipline specific core courses of Disciplines A, B and C, respectively chosen by the learner.
