Dr R S P Singh is a Professor at School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET), IGNOU. He is having 28 years of  teaching experience in ODL and VET. He did his M.Sc. (Ag) in Extension Education from Banaras Hindu University (BHU)  Varanasi followed by a project of Space Application Centre (SAC) DRDO on Radio Education for Adult Literacy (PREAL)  at Mirzapur, UP. 

He holds a Ph.D degree in Extension Education from BHU and was recipient of Junior Research Fellowship from UGC and got Gold Medal in M.Sc.(Ag) . Prior to joining IGNOU, he worked at NIOS as Faculty in Department of Vocational  Education and coordinated and edited courses in the area of Plant Protection, Water Management, Soil & Fertilizer  Management, Mushroom Production and Poultry Farming. He has coordinated Project HUNAR for skill development of  minorities. 

At present, Dr Singh is Director of School (SOVET) and coordinating a course of Certificate in Fashion Design, Diploma in  Modern Office Management (DMOP), M A in Entrepreneurship (MAER) and Ph. D Programme. Under his Supervision  three Research Scholars awarded with Ph D Degree. He has coordinated six programmes in different areas of Vocational  Education and Training. He also coordinated Eight Pan India Projects on Skill Development sponsored by Ministry of  Rural Development, Govt. of India. 

He has several publications in journals and books of national and international repute. He has been consulted by various  national and international educational institutions like NIOS, NCERT, PSSCIVE (NCERT), CBSE, BHU, DU, YCMOU,  KOU, MORD, MOE, Ministry of Labour and employment, Commonwealth of Learning (COL). He has also been members  of different professional bodies and advisory board of Universities and State Public commission etc. 

He specialized and area of interest in Instructional Design/Curriculum Development, Training and Assessment of  Vocational Education and Training. 

WORK EXPERIENCE: Twenty Eight years of Teaching and Research experience in Open and Distance learning at  different level. 

INTERNATIONAL ASSIGNMENTS: Participated in workshop on Quality Assurance in ODL, Johannesburg (SA),  Sponsored by COL. (7-13 September, 2008)
