Sub: Adoption of UGC Regulations – 2010 and contextualizing them for IGNOU conditions.
A Circular was issued on 7.7.2010 requesting all the Directors of Schools / Heads of Divisions / Units / Centres to send necessary inputs on APIs for contextualizing them in IGNOU conditions. The Circular was followed by reminders on 10.8.2010 & 27.9.2010 and another circular with the draft APIs on 8.3.2011. Some Schools have responded and a few Schools have sought extension of time. Further, a group of Teachers have represented on 28.3.2011 to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor that they need time for deliberations and providing their inputs on the documents.
The Committee appointed for contextualizing the UGC Regulation 2010 again met on 2.4.2011 and deliberated on the subject. The Committee decided to post the draft document on the IGNOU Website and request all the teachers/academics to go through the document and make available their inputs not later than 18.04.2011. Accordingly, the draft document containing Ordinance on CAS for teachers, Regulations, API Indicators and the PABS Format designed by the UGC has been posted on the IGNOU website.
All the teachers/ academics are requested to go through these documents and make available their inputs, if any, to their respective Directors/Heads of Division, not later than 18th April, 2011. The Directors/Heads of Divisions/Cells/Centres may kindly consolidate the inputs headwise and then remit to ACD in a separate communication.
