The SOVET organized Brainstorming Session on Vocational Education and Skill Development for Open and Distance Learning through NSQF/NVEQF on March 3, 2014. Experts from National Skill Development Agency, National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, University of Delhi, Former faculty from PSSCIVE, NCERT, CBSE and faculty from different schools of study of IGNOU participated in the discussion. Dr. Ashok K Gaba, Director, SOVET coordinated the session. The objectives of the session were to:

·       explore the innovative models of Vocational Education and Skill Development for employability through ODL system;

·       identify gaps and opportunities for scaling of innovative models and their implications for policy formulation; and 

·        develop plan of action based on the suggestions and recommendation for to design and development of VET programmes through ODL system based on the recommendation.
