Conference fees and sponsorship |
I have applied for a subsidy. How can I meet the Early-Bird Registration Deadline when the outcome of my application is not yet known?
Those who are awaiting news of their subsidy application will not be expected to register and pay online until after they have received news from the Commonwealth of Learning about their subsidy application. In case you find out after the early-bird deadline (now set at October 15, 2010) that your subsidy application has not been successful, you will still be able to pay the early-bird rate. |
Is there a reduced rate for students? |
There is only one fee level for the full conference (plus the option to book at the early-bird rate now extended to midnight, October 15, 2010). The fee is set at a level which makes it less likely to exclude people who are attending from countries with lower incomes. When compared to similar events, the fees for PCF6 is generally much lower, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. [We have also taken care to provide as many options for low-cost accommodation in the conference vicinity which includes low cost hotels which have single rooms and twins (for sharing and cutting down costs)].
Is there a group discount rate? |
No, we do not discount the fees for group bookings - please refer to the answer above on student rates which also applies here. However, we recommend that anyone who is planning to register and pay for a group of people should contact the conference team in advance, stating how many people are in the group and whether they are applying for the full rate or daily rate. The conference team will then provide help and advice on the best and most cost-effective way to do this. Contact: registration@pcf6.net |
I am looking for sponsorship as I cannot afford the fees – can you help? |
The deadline for subsidy applications directly for PCF6 has now passed (it was August 15, 2010). If you are applying to your own organisation for support and you are in need of a letter of invitation, please contact the PCF6 Secretariat at: invite@pcf6.net |

Hotels and accommodation |
My partner is travelling with me (but not attending the Forum). Can you make recommendations on suitable accommodation? |
A first suggestion might be the Wyte Fort Hotel for you and your partner. It is one of the most affordable hotels with twin room accommodation at a distance of 0.5 kilometres from the conference venue. You will find information on this hotel and others in our Accommodation guide |

Special requirements |
I am a wheelchair user-partially sighted delegate and would like to know which accommodation would be most suitable for me and how I can find out about wheelchair access at the conference venue.

I am bringing my partner who would like to attend the Gala evening with me - is that possible? |

Can I pay in Euro, UK pounds sterling, or any other currency?
Payment for the Forum can be made either in US Dollars or Indian Rupee. Your bank should offer you the facility to purchase a dollar draft or a transfer of funds which includes conversion into dollar or the Indian Rupee. |
Can I pay for my delegate fee by cash when I arrive in the India?
Unfortunately we will not have facilities to accept payment on arrival at the conference. We understand that some people may have difficulties paying delegate fees - however, the conference team will help you find a suitable method of paying for your place before coming to Kochi. The reason why registration and payment must be handled prior to your arrival is that the Forum is likely to be full to capacity. This means that if you arrive without booking your place and without paying, there may be no more spaces left. In addition to the Online option on our website, we can also take payments by demand draft or direct bank transfer. If you would like to know how to use these methods of payment, please contact the organisers on registration@pcf6.net |
