Introduction

The Degree programme is a broad based programme with a mix of disciplinary, interdisciplinary and skill based courses. It has the following objectives:

1. Introduce the learners to the main themes and topics of disciplines in Humanities and Social Sciences;
2. Provide the learners with the information and skills necessary to understand and analyse their world; and
3. Enable the learners to work towards ability and skill enhancement through exposure to different job roles.

The three-year degree programme consists of 120 credits. Out of this, courses worth 60 credits shall be offered by IGNOU. The remaining 60 credits shall be offered by the defence services through in-service skill training. Students have to earn all the credits offered by IGNOU and the defence services to successfully complete the programme.

Objective

The programme aims to provide opportunities for higher education leading to the award of B.A (Applied Skills) degree to the Agniveers that would help them in post-service employment and further professional development.
