Introduction

The programme has been designed with 50% NSQF aligned and NCVET approved skill components wherein the Defense forces will deliver Skill components at their designated centers. Innovation will be a prerequisite for assuring appropriate skills and employment to the youth / Agniveers. The three-year degree programme consists of 120 credits. Out of this, courses worth 60 credits shall be offered by IGNOU. The remaining 60 credits shall be offered by the defense services through in-service skill training. Students have to earn all the credits offered by IGNOU and the defense services to successfully complete the programme.

Objective

The programme will provide the opportunities to the youth/ trainees/Agniveers to enhance their knowledge by acquiring higher education in Commerce discipline. Study through ODL mode will facilitate the learners to avail the benefits of various Governments schemes. The programme aims to provide opportunities for higher education leading to the award of B.Com (Applied Skills) degree to the Agniveers that would help them in post-service employment and further in their professional development.
