Introduction

Objective

B.A. in Applied Urdu is according to the National Education Policy-2020 which consists of comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and skill-based academic courses. This three year undergraduate Programme aims at developing a commendable level of mastery over Urdu language, very good communication skills in Urdu and English language, considerable familiarity with literature written in Urdu, the way of reading and appreciating literature from different angles and orientations etc. In the entire Programme the courses are divided as Core Courses, Minor Courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, and Common Value added courses. In addition to this, the Programme offered, through different courses, tries to inculcate democratic, multicultural, secular, environmental and gender sensitive values to cater to the modern notions of equity, social justice and merit in all educational endeavors. After compelation of this programme you may get numerous employment opportunities are available in a variety of sectors which includes both private and government sector organizations.

The entire programme will have a total of 120 credits. As per IGNOU and NSDC MoU, skill enhancement courses/Internship/ Apprenticeship will be provided by NSDC wherever possible. The duration of the program will be 03 years (Minimum) and 06 years (Maximum). According to the new education policy, there will also be a provision for multiple entry and exit in this programme.
